I am a doctoral candidate in the computer music program at the University of California. I have a bachelors in cognitive science and my musical interests lie at the intersection of the two fields.
I'm interested in structures that emerge in the performance of algorithmic compositions. Composing a system rather than a fixed combination of notes opens up new realms of compositional possibility. A practical advantage is that algorithmic interactive electronic parts are far more robust in performance than those notated strictly in advance and implemented with score followers.
